Bachelor of Optometry

Bachelor of Optometry (B.Optom) is a 5-year program (4 years + 1 year internship) training students to examine eyes, prescribe corrective lenses, detect eye diseases, fit contact lenses, and provide vision therapy. Optometrists can practice independently after registration with the Optometry Council of India. India has 550 million people who need vision correction but only 10% have access to optometric care — creating massive unmet demand. Optical retail chains like Lenskart, Titan Eye+, Specsmakers are expanding rapidly.

• 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology • Minimum 50% marks • No NEET required • Age: 17–25 years • Normal color vision and good eyesight
