Diploma in Emergency Medical Technology

Diploma in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) trains students to provide emergency pre-hospital care and work in emergency rooms. EMTs respond to medical emergencies — cardiac arrests, accidents, strokes, poisoning — and provide life-saving interventions before patients reach the hospital. India's 108 Ambulance Service, private ambulance providers, and hospital emergency departments employ EMTs. With National Ambulance Services expanding, EMT is a growing career with unique challenges.

• 10+2 with any stream (PCB preferred) • Minimum 45% marks • Physically fit — no physical disabilities • Good communication skills • Age: 18–30 years

Theory: • Emergency Medicine Fundamentals • Basic Life Support (BLS) & ACLS • Trauma Management (ATLS basics) • Medical Emergencies – MI, Stroke, Seizure • Pediatric Emergencies • Obstetric Emergencies • Triage & Mass Casualty • Ambulance Operations Practical: • CPR & AED Training • IV Cannulation • Splinting & Immobilization • Patient Transport • Ambulance Driving (optional) • Hospital ER Rotation – 6 months
