Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology

Diploma in Operation Theatre Technology (DOTT) is a 2-year program training students to work as operation theatre assistants. OT technicians prepare the OT for surgery, sterilize instruments, set up surgical drapes, assist the scrub nurse/technician, and manage post-operative cleanup. DOTT is the most accessible entry-level qualification for working in surgical environments. India performs millions of surgeries annually in government and private hospitals, creating steady demand for OT assistants.

Year 1: • Anatomy & Physiology • Surgical Microbiology & Infection Control • Sterilization Methods & CSSD • Basic Surgical Instruments • OT Setup & Draping • Patient Care & Positioning Year 2: • Surgical Instrumentation – General • Specialty OT (Ortho, Gynae, ENT) • Anaesthesia Basics • Laparoscopic Instrument Care • OT Safety & Waste Management • Internship – 6 months OT
